Where to stay in Cancun?
I’m looking at Cancun and I’m really confused about where to stay! I don’t know where in Cancun I need to be looking or at what hotels! I want to be near activities, I don’t want to sit around a pool all day because I get bored, although I would like the option of strolling along the beach or chilling by the pool if I was in the mood. I want to be able to get to sights, water sports, shops and bars etc easily, go for a wonder around nearby things at night, I don’t want there to be any need to travel significant distances while I’m there and there will not be any hire cars. I would like all inclusive as I’ve never tried it, and would like a nice hotel as it will by my honeymoon, views of the ocean and a good choice of restaurants, bars, entertainment as part of the all inclusive bit etc…….I might be asking too much though! Any ideas on what area of Cancun and/ or what hotels might be worth looking at!?! I’m a bit confused by it all!
The two best hotel resorts in Cancun proper are Ritz Carlton and Aqua Live Resort all inclusive for adults only, both 5 star resorts both close to clubs and shopping centers. There are about three main shopping centers on the hotel trip, La Isla, being the main one with plenty of restaurants and stores, cool place to walk around. I can recommend a Thai restaurant there on the water, after having been to Thailand, this place really makes you feel in Thailand and food is good. Plaza Caracol, also has nice stores and even a Ruth Chris steak house, they have a tequila store on the second floor, with over 500 different bottles, will show you the tequila making process there and free samples! They have an other very high end mall, Plaza Kulkukan with , Gucci, Versace etc. Go for it…tax free
I really hope between your spa treatment, Starbuck lattes and shopping spree, you actually take time to see outside Cancun. You can get tours from your hotel to visit some amazing places, Chichen Itza, Mayan Pyramid, one of the new seven wonders of the world! about two hours outside Cancun, Also check out ecological theme parks, XEL HA, XCARET and XPLOR, these places are awesome and will not see anywhere else in the world, really. Look them up on YouTube, you’ll see for yourself!
